Cantaloupe for Breakfast

If you look back a couple of posts or maybe one, I can't remember, you will see a picture of some cantaloupes. Several days ago, I looked and one had fallen off the vine. (HUGE gasp!!) I hoped and hoped that it would go ahead and finish ripening so we could eat it. Well.....This morning Alan cut it up and we ATE IT!! I did very good growing this accidentally ocurring fruit plant that is now in my tummy. YUM, YUM!!

I am also sitting in my kitchen with the door and windows open letting in this wonderfully fall like breeze. As I stood making coffee this morning in my newly arrived coffee pot, letting the breeze play over my face, I said to Alan, "When people say why is fall your favorite season?", "This right here is all you need to know why." It is amazing.

Tired today but better after a good nights rest!!

Hi Liz,

How's it going? I haven't been around much lately, but wanted to check in and ask about your taters. Mine wilted as yours did..didn't stand up all that well from June on. We went on vacation and didn't ask anyone to water, bein' the drought was trying to wipe them out anyhow. When we got back, I dumped the barrels over and we got probably enough potatoes for one meal for 2 people, ha! The red potatoes did better than the white, or yellow..but those were sorta rotted in a few places. I'm not sure if it's the whole barrel thing, why they did poorly, but I had a rough summer all the way around, with my herbs, etc. I hope next year it rains a little more.
