No camera

My eldest has taken the digital camera and the batteries. All week I go to grab the camera to take a picture of my morning glories and low and behold there haven't been any batteries in the camera. Today I called my daughters, whom I had just dropped off at the bus stop, to ask where the batteries were. "They are in the camera" was the response. "Do you have the camera?", I asked. "No, but Katey does." DANG IT!!

So, the pictures of the pretty flowers around here will just have to wait. I reckon I am running out of time due to the fact that fall and frost is on the way. It has been chilly here recently and I love it. I stay cold most of the time but cold weather is good memories for me.

The thoughts are in my head for winter preparation and moving the garden to another spot. A truck load of compost will do nicely, but the time to go get it seems to be the issue. I kind of like the "cleaning up" of the garden and flower beds come winter. Gives everything that neat ready for what is next kind of feel. Dreary winter days literally depress me but I always have in the back of my head that spring is coming and with it new flowers and chances to grow new things.

I already have ideas for next year in my head, getting a better earlier start for one. Knowing for sure what I am going to plant too. This year was mostly experimental and gave me lots of ideas and desires for the year to come. It is never too late to start planning for what is to come.

I am sure most of you who have side walks have that grass strip between the road and that sidewalk. Next year I am going to start filling mine in with flowers. I mean the whole thing, eventually. I am taking seeds from where ever I find them right now. I will try to keep a photo log of the progress. It should be interesting.
