Black Widow!!

Just happened to find this beside MY FRONT DOOR today. I know for a fact that it has been there for awile, due to the "left overs" from its previous meals. I got a couple of pictures of it's legs peeking out before I killed it and these before I smashed it for sure. I usually don't kill spiders if I can help it but these are an exception. They are beautiful in that spidery kind of way, but I can't deal with it knowing that I just left one to maybe bite someone. Oh, well that is how it goes.

Here is one of it's legs - it is up in the corner hiding :

Do you have a clue?

I had the urge to go outside since the rain had stopped and found this "weed" growing in the yard. It has a pretty white flower with a burgundy center. Very pretty. So, does any body out there know what that is? I can get closer pictures if you let me know. I have never seen a plant like that before. Isn't God grand?

Looky, Looky!!!

This is a Star Gazer lily. I grow them because Debi likes them and mine started blooming out today. They smell really good. I have 5 stems of them with at least 4 blooms each. Well, not all are open at the moment, just 2, but when they all open it is going to be an amazing thing. If you are in the neighborhood, you need to just stop on by and take a whiff. Beautiful in many ways!!

Always game to try new things

This, according to my mother, is a spider plant. She got the seeds in Gatlinburg, Tennessee from a plant on the shopping drag. Taking it home she started these and then gave me one. I wasn't too sure what it would turn into but it is pretty. The flower is unusual looking and the leaves look like pot leaves, at least like pictures that I have seen of pot leaves. So, like the title says, I like to try new things. Sometimes they work for me and sometimes they don't. The hard part is eradicating the plant once I have deemed it not for me. For now, I am going to keep this one. When I did a search on the title spider plant I didn't find one that looked like this so if you all know the correct name of this plant please let me know so I can find out more about it.

This is a close up of the flower part. Pink and white. I am not usually a fan of pink flowers but these are just unusual enough to keep my attention.

Look what I found this morning

It was just crawling across my kitchen floor. THAT is a lady bug nymph. It is red and black just like it's parents but it is funky looking. If I had been using Alan's new camera I might have gotten a better closer picture. I took it out front and put it on my rose bush so it can eat any aphids that come along, lady bugs LOVE aphids.

That is all for today.
