Things I have to be thankful for If you go to Alan's blog you can read the story of my major ignorance. So, I am going to take a good long time to type one handed the things I have to be thankful for.1. That I am not dead. 2. That I am not paralyzed. 3. That it was me and not one of my kids. 4. That I am right handed. 5. That I have understanding new employers. 6. That I have a great husband. 7. That I don't live even 50 years ago -thanks for advancements in medicine. 8. For Percocet 9. For people not hollering at me as much as they could. 10. That I am under 40 and still a little flexible. 10 ought to do. posted by Liz at 10:25 AM - permalink - - November 15, 2007 A fact of life This picture shows a reality of life. Most people live from paycheck to paycheck and are just one away from "loosing it all". A friend of mine was appointed by our governor and he recently lost a re-election. She is very likely to loose her job. And what a bad time of year for that to happen. Alan and I, early in our marriage, decided due to finances and other events that we would only buy 2 gifts each for our children. Our thought process came after one huge Christmas a child replied, "Is that all?!?". We have never done the Santa thing. We thought it was lying to our kids, as a matter of fact we never did any of the fictional holiday whosits. Sure they still received an Easter basket, and sometimes money under their pillow for a tooth, but we never told them the corresponding character did it. Both sets of our parents felt that was on the verge of neglect - seriously. Anyway, we made the decision to not spend a lot for gifts. This year is going to be VERY tight, and you know what? I think that is great. Thankfully I am kind of crafty and I have some things in the works, well at least the ideas and most of the material. Seriously, I think this might be one of the best Christmas's yet. Now I just have to get my butt in gear and start sewing!! posted by Liz at 7:55 AM - permalink - - November 13, 2007 You should be jealous......REALLY!! This past weekend and tonight I have been helping serve food to the volunteers of the Extreme Homemakeover!! Chili's is donating food to feed the hundreds of people helping build a house for the Hughes in Louisville. AND I have walked through the house. Unfortunately, I signed a confidentiality clause and can't tell you anything - HA!! You can probably google it and find out more than I could tell you any way.NO, I have not seen Ty or any one else that could possibly be famous. From what they tell us, there is another makeover going on in Kansas and the team has to fly in between the 2 as needed. Tomorrow from 12-3 is the reveal. The story of the family is pretty cool. I just sat and watched a lot about him and his family. I believe you will find it just as inspiring as I do!! posted by Liz at 8:22 AM - permalink - - |

| Here is my blog. It is the thoughts and feelings of an "aging," homeschooling housewife who serves at a local restaurant. I am an average everyday normal kind of person, although my "normalness" becomes less so in today's society. Read on and enjoy or just realize you may not be the only one.
