Ooops...
So, Katey had her first accident. It was her fault. God love her little heart. I got one of those calls that you get at work that make you automatically assume the worst. Thankfully only the cars involved were damaged. As you can see from the pictures it isn't horrible damage, but enough that the Trooper isn't drivable until it is fixed. The first picture shows where the tie rod was broken. The second is the external damage. Neither of the lights got broken, just the housing of them. And of course the front bumper and the quarter panel.

We are waiting on the insurance adjusters to go look at the car and they said it may be 3 days before they get to the shop we had it towed to. Right now it is a big inconvenience to only have one vehicle with 3 people with jobs and 3 other kids needing to get to practices and such. It is working for right now but I sure hope we don't have to go for 2 more weeks before we get the Trooper back. The most important thing is that Katey or the other driver weren't hurt. Cars can be fixed and that is why we have insurance.

I remember my first accident. I rear ended someone, not long after I got my license. Stupid me didn't call the police, but it being my first accident I didn't know. The other driver said he was fine and there was very little to no damage to his van. Just the front bumper of my mom's car had to be replaced. That was back in the day when bumpers were metal and it had a good dent right in the middle. I remember her coming out of the house seeing what I had done and crying and saying "That is all I need right now!" Of course, being 16, I didn't really know what was going on with my mom other than she was pissed that I had done what I had done. I think about that now, and have since the time it happened, and always swore that I would never get mad at my kids for having an accident. Getting mad because they were being stupid is one thing, but Katey wasn't being stupid. Believe it or not I think she is a very responsible driver. She thinks, unlike so many teen drivers. So, we wait on the car to get fixed and deal with driving everywhere and trying to get people where they need to go when they need to be there. Whewwww!!

Here is my blog. It is the thoughts and feelings of an "aging," homeschooling housewife who serves at a local restaurant. I am an average everyday normal kind of person, although my "normalness" becomes less so in today's society. Read on and enjoy or just realize you may not be the only one.
