A fact of life This picture shows a reality of life. Most people live from paycheck to paycheck and are just one away from "loosing it all". A friend of mine was appointed by our governor and he recently lost a re-election. She is very likely to loose her job. And what a bad time of year for that to happen. Alan and I, early in our marriage, decided due to finances and other events that we would only buy 2 gifts each for our children. Our thought process came after one huge Christmas a child replied, "Is that all?!?". We have never done the Santa thing. We thought it was lying to our kids, as a matter of fact we never did any of the fictional holiday whosits. Sure they still received an Easter basket, and sometimes money under their pillow for a tooth, but we never told them the corresponding character did it. Both sets of our parents felt that was on the verge of neglect - seriously. Anyway, we made the decision to not spend a lot for gifts. This year is going to be VERY tight, and you know what? I think that is great. Thankfully I am kind of crafty and I have some things in the works, well at least the ideas and most of the material. Seriously, I think this might be one of the best Christmas's yet. Now I just have to get my butt in gear and start sewing!! posted by Liz at 7:55 AM - permalink - - |

| Here is my blog. It is the thoughts and feelings of an "aging," homeschooling housewife who serves at a local restaurant. I am an average everyday normal kind of person, although my "normalness" becomes less so in today's society. Read on and enjoy or just realize you may not be the only one.
