Letting things go Alan and I started putting the garage in a little bit of order and cleaning and getting things together for a yard sale. I came across some old things from high school, yes I have been dragging them around for 21 years!!! Some trophies and memoribillia and such. I teared up at some and the good memories and then I shook my head at some things too. It is interesting when you don't remember stuff and here you have things you have been keeping around for so long. I recently came back in touch with some old friends that I hadn't spoken to for most of the 21 years since high school, and I was amazed that even after a specific picture they didn't remember an incident that has stuck with me all this time. It is just interesting how peoples minds work. There was a box of trophies that I just tossed today, yes, ALL of them. It was a bit freeing. And then there were some buttons, like campaign buttons. I threw away all but a few. The one that said "I love (old boy friends name)", a "Vote Roth for Pres.", and then one for that old boy friend that had the slogan "A one in a Million Man" or some thing to that affect. It is easier and easier to do away with that kind of thing. I prefer the space and if I need some thing to make me remember, I don't reckon it is much of a memory. Monday Alan and I will celebrate 19 years of marriage. I am looking forward to 19 more. I am tired and need to go to bed, one more day and then I am off for 2 - Whewww!! Good night. posted by Liz at 12:43 AM - permalink - - |

| Here is my blog. It is the thoughts and feelings of an "aging," homeschooling housewife who serves at a local restaurant. I am an average everyday normal kind of person, although my "normalness" becomes less so in today's society. Read on and enjoy or just realize you may not be the only one.
