The Natural way of things
My manager at work, Ally, is pregnant and due in October. She and her best friend, who was officially due on the 15th of this month, have the same doctor. Ally was telling me that their doctor was going to induce the friend within a couple of days if she didn't go into labor. The phrase "Oh, they don't let you get much overdue now days" just kind of made me pause. Why is it necessary to force nature? Just seems a bit hinky to me. I know, I know all about the ways that medicine has advanced and yada, yada.

I have been induced, 2 weeks overdue with the boy, and it is not a nice thing to go through. It hurts a lot worse than natural labor, no breaks really between the contractions. And other than one shot of Stadol (sp?) I did it without pain killers. I did natural pain control with the last 3, and having had an Epidural with Katey, if, God forbid, I had to go through labor again, I would choose natural again. It was so much better than the Epidural.

Any way, my point is that we just mess with stuff too much. I am all about saving lives and medical advances and such, but why do we HAVE to force things when it isn't about saving a life? Same with spiritual things too, we just have to force it and make it better and we end up missing the point and not letting things BE naturally in our everyday life. I was just thinking about that.

First Day of School 2006
If you all are so inclined lift up my kids in prayer as they head back to school today. Katey is a Senior and she took plenty of opportunities to tell us that today - Ha!! Meaghan is a Sophomore and pretty excited to be heading back. Apparently she was involuntarily signed up for Advanced Shakespeare - AAAAAARRRGHHH!! and is going to change that. Conor is officially in 7th grade and Mckenzie in 5th, with the last two being home schooled. Mentioning that - you all REALLY pray for me that I will keep up with what I need to keep up with.

Oh, I feel my favorite season coming on so I am happy about that.

Peace to all you going back to school as well!!

I was tagged - Damnit!!
Ok, so it is something about the 7 songs I am enjoying at the moment. This is gonna be funny - m'kay?

1. Buttons by the Pussy Cat Dolls
2. Shake That by Eminem
3. I Just Called to Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder
4. Switch by Will Smith
5. Ridin' by Chamillionaire
6. Word Up by Cameo
7. (Reach Up for The) Sunrise by Duran Duran

I have a couple more that I listen to regularly at the moment but just the mix of these is funny enough.

So, I am lame....
Yeah, I am. I can find a bunch of different things to do instead of blog or what ever. I think it might be procrastination, not sure, but it is something.

Anyway, today is my oldest daughters birthday. I am pretty sure that I am not old enough to have a 17 year old daughter. Yeah, almost positive. It doesn't seem that it has been long enough to be 17 years and that by this time next year she will be getting ready to go off to college. I am sure you have read this on Alan's blog, but she is a VERY talented young lady. Creative and all that. An excellent writer. I have read some of her stuff in the past, she doesn't show me much any more, but it has been the level of "forget your actually reading something not real". She can take a subject you don't even like to read about and transport you into the story. I wonder how you can actually do such a thing, I mean where does the know how come from so that you can entertain someone in that manner? Hell, I can't even communicate well on my blog or verbally for that matter. ( I actually got stuck on how to say that last little bit - silly). So, I said all that to say I am very proud of Katey. I am honored that God blessed me with such a great young lady. I can hardly wait until she writes an entire book so I can get a beginning, middle and end to one of her stories.

We had a party with a lot of her friends last night, not as bad as I had though it would be. Didn't seem like 6 hours.

Totally off the subject - We just had some people bike past us and Alan said "Wouldn't it be nice if adults were like children. They see you sitting there and walk over and say "HHey, you wanna play with me?" It would be a lot simpler to have and be friends if we were more child like. Serious and funny at the same time.

Here is my blog. It is the thoughts and feelings of an "aging," homeschooling housewife who serves at a local restaurant. I am an average everyday normal kind of person, although my "normalness" becomes less so in today's society. Read on and enjoy or just realize you may not be the only one.
