What makes you think and want those things?
I want a pair of draft mules. SERIOUSLY!! I was reading The Rural Missourian
and I have decided that I am going to be one of those old women walking behind a mule, or a pair depending on the job, out in the field in a gingham skirt and bonnet. I just really believe that we were meant to be closer to the earth than we actually are. To be self sustaining and able to care for ourselves. In that, I am not saying we shouldn't be part of community or ask or help or allow others to help us, just that we depend on technology way too much.

I think that is one of the reasons our society is becoming more and more over weight. We sit on our butts in front of a T.V., a game cube, a computer, or on a piece of heavy equipment instead of using our hands, heads and muscle. Yeah, yeah, I know our society is advancing and becoming more intelligent, WHATEVER!! I think we need to take a step back and look where we are really heading. We are killing ourselves and our planet - What kind of stewards does that make us? Crappy ones if you ask me.

Sorry about the soap box, ya'll. When it looks me right in the face, I can't ignore it, and I am pretty good at ignoring things, just ask Alan - HA!! So, here in less than 10 years, I hope to have some big piece of land that I can cultivate in small patches. Pick your own berry and corn patches, organically grown of course, a lot of crops to preserve myself to live on, some to sell at the local farmers market and Christmas trees. And in order to do that I have to have me a team of draft mules. I am going to start saving and by gosh go and get me a pair as soon as I have a place to keep them.

Here is my blog. It is the thoughts and feelings of an "aging," homeschooling housewife who serves at a local restaurant. I am an average everyday normal kind of person, although my "normalness" becomes less so in today's society. Read on and enjoy or just realize you may not be the only one.
