There are several other Merton quotes from the book that I'll share, but today I thought I'd give you one of the sayings from a Desert Father himself. This is the first one in the book. I read it two or three times and it hit me as gigantically profound. It felt as if it was directed at me personally. Perhaps you'll feel the same.
