Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed; I am your God. I will strengthen you, and help you, and uphold you with my right hand of justice.
Yes, all shall be put to shame and disgrace who vent their anger against you; Those shall perish and come to nought who offer resistance. You shall seek out, but shall not find, those who strive against you; They shall be as nothing at all who do battle against you.
For I am the Lord, your God, who grasp your right hand; It is I who say to you, "Fear not, I will help you." Fear not, O worm Jacob, O maggot Israel; I will help you, says the Lord; your redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. –Isaiah 41:10-14
I'm sitting with these verses for a bit per my spiritual director. The bold emphasis there is mine - or maybe the Lord's to me. What a thing to say - worm, maggot - even though you're a worm, still, don't worry, I will help you. I am your redeemer. It gets down to that. It has to get down to that for me, right now. I know He is there. I know He will help me. I trust that He is leading me. There are all kinds of things I could look up at and be distracted by, and I have been doing so, but I need to stop that and learn how to simply trust Him.
