thinking out loud > 3 questions
OK, this is my new "Alan is thinking about some things - looking off into the copy to the right - thing" - nice huh? Whatever, there you go. Of course I'm always thinking about something. Sometimes, as I am a blogger, I feel the need to share some of those thoughts with you, the blog-public. Such a fortunate bunch you are. So every time I have one of these "thinking out loud >" posts, you'll see my mug there studying about that thang. Here's an interesting exercise: I'll put a few thoughtful questions down, do my best at answering them, as briefly as possible. Then you can pick one or more and do the same in the comments, as briefly as possible. Let's see what happens.
  1. What is REALLY important?
Love. The re-creation of the Human person. Relationships.

  2. So what if Padre Pio DID fake his Stigmata?
Ultimately, it doesn't matter. I mean, if he was a fake, he was a fake. My faith in the center, the core, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is not effected in the least. If we have our faith located in such a person or phenomenon, that strongly, we are shaky to begin with.

  3. Is FEAR a healthy motivator?
Short answer: No. Now, I didn't say it wasn't an effective motivator. It certainly "works." But I don't believe it is ultimately a healthy motive for doing something - and especially not a healthy tool to use with which to get someone to do or not do something. It doesn't get at the point of good behavior. It skims the shallow surface of the whole point. It takes a passive, secondary and uses it as an active, primary. That equals twisted.
