"Return, says the Lord, I will not remain angry with you; for I am merciful, I will not continue my wrath forever. Return, rebellious children, says the Lord."
Jeremiah 3:12b, 14a
Another reminder of His mercy. How do we need to return to Him, to our home in Him? How far have we roamed from the comfort and safety of His household? However far it is, He calls us to return, for He is merciful. His anger is because of Love. Parents, have you ever been angry with your children because they did something unsafe or which could harm them? It's a different kind of anger isn't it? It is the anger of Love, which yearns for the good of the other. It is anger mixed with deep concern. It comes from the same ground as the mercy which calls for return. Give us Grace, Father, to answer your call for return. Show us Your mercy.
