christmas aftermath Well, at least the aftermath of the Christmas morning present thing. Christmas is still with us for a little while yet. We always do Christmas morning here at home. We were awoken at something like 6:20am, to which we said, "no, come back at 7" and fell back asleep for a bit. So, then we opened our presents to one another.
The kids get two "main" presents each, one "Main main" and another, along with a few little stocking stuffers. The tradition has arisen around here for the kids to do their Christmas shopping for each other and for us, at the local Dollar store (everything costs $1.00). So, they can actually get, in a family of 6, a present for everyone else. It's funny, there were like 9 million presents under our tree but most of them cost only a dollar so, yeah, pretty funny.
Oh, did I forget to mention one of the presents I got from sneaky Miss Liz? I did, didn't I? Of course you see it there. A few of you will really appreciate this. A very few will even know the significance of the title of that book (if you can tell me I'll let you touch it when you come over). It's a first edition Merton that I had seen with Liz at our local Half Price Books. Very nice. I have one other first edition Merton I got on eBay, Thoughts In Solitude. Adding to my collection. I also got a new electric shaver, a shirt, a cross, a new bread knife, a candy cane, and a little fat chicken piggy bank. So there. And yes, that's the torrential aftermath over there - good Lord. We did clean it up but the house is still a wreck. So, like I said, that part's over, but the deeper part lingers on. Merry Christmas.
