all saints > love
Happy All Saints' Day. I think I'm supposed to say that. And as I've said many times before on this day - Congratulations! If you're a saint, congratulations. That is a wonder of wonders. Of course there's a couple of ways to look at "being a saint" - I'm talking about the general way of speaking about anyone who is "in the One Saint, Jesus." This is a saint.

There is another thing that is referred to, which we should also be on the road to (this is the journey part) - level of transformation. There are some of us, and have been some of us (the Church, the saints) who are and were more fully transformed into the Image of Christ. Because of this, we venerate them, look up to them, emulate them, listen to their words and watch their example.

We are all still members of one another. Even if they have stepped across the "great divide," we are still members of the same Body. I honor and venerate today my brothers Mark Palmer and Chad Canipe. They are not far away. I still share the great Communion with them. We miss them here in this context but we know, by faith, that there is still a connection. And yes, I'll be so bold as to say I ask them to pray for me, for us, because I believe they can and will.

And I leave you with another little Giugo quote - another saint whose voice we can learn from even now - 182...
If you love because you are loved, or so that you will be loved, you are not really loving but reciprocating, repaying love for love. You are a moneychanger! You have had your reward.
