good Lord I'm tired
I wonder if this is a blogosphere first - are you ready? I'm blogging from the bathtub. Don't get excited! It's mostly about soaking my aching muscles and bones. I'm pitiful really - too young to hurt like this. Today has been fruitful though.

Don't tell the Abbot but I was up late for Morning Prayer in the chapel - 8:40! Wow. Anyway, prayer, coffee, blog surfing, etc. Then shortly after a little cleaning, off to get some galvanized nails to put up this auxiliary fence in our side yard, with a gate, so we can put our dog away when people are over without having to coop him up in the garage. He bites a little so we could leave him out but that wouldn't end well I'm thinking.

Liz and I had bought the 2x4's and fence pickets for the job yesterday. We already had the 4x4's and had sunk them into the ground with concrete yesterday as well. So it was a work day today and oh my, it seems like we were out there all day long but we got it done! Woo hoo! I took a few photos but haven't downloaded them from the camera yet (UPDATE: See the photos). When you come over you'll be impressed. But damn I'm sore!

Then, without stopping, just before the rain, cranked up the grill to make hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner. The rain came anyway and at my son Conor's suggestion we moved the outdoor table and big umbrella over there and I grilled in the roaring rain with lightening! Fun! It worked fine and the grill is still dry - and the food was good.

I was going to go fishing today but once again, I'm pitiful and if I had done it, the way I fish, I may not have been able to walk for a couple of days. Aaggghh!! So I ate and took a bath - and I'm blogging. So, that's it - and I've been reading the good comments from the last couple of posts, thanks.

Oh, and it's the 4th of July. My 5th great grandfather and all his brothers fought in that little uprising called the American Revolution in the 1700's - North Carolina Militia. There were certainly some noble things about it, but I often wonder about that little ditty that says something about submitting to authorities even if they oppress you and are unjust - something about what credit can you claim for obeying only that with which you agree. Hmm. But, BUT, the tea tax! But no represent.... Oh dear, let's not get started on that. I'm fine being an American. I mount no protest. Peace - Peace be with you.
