It's potluck night for the community of vine & branches. We all (mostly) cook something and bring it to share, then eat and hang out - participating in the sacrament of fellowship - on the last Sunday night of the month. Anyway, tonight is "Asian night" - so I'm making Pad Thai noodles with chicken. I practiced the other day - turned out very good. Looking forward to that. I'm also going to make some sushi, California Rolls, which I had also never made. Just finished a practice roll of that - turned our pretty well I think for a first time. I think Debi's bringing some curry. That'll be good. We'll see what else shows up.
And, the second to last episode of my favorite television show, West Wing, is on tonight. I might be going into some kind of withdrawal/mourning soon, not sure. I think we're going to see the introduction of the possibility of, as I predicted, a split ticket tonight - Dem. President, Rep. Vice Pres. Should be interesting.
Oh yeah, health update on me, if anyone had even noticed there was news: I've been medicated for high blood pressure. All my other bloodwork was good and normal. On my month follow-up visit to the doctor, I had lost 5 pounds and the pressure was down some. He gave me a new medication, still not very strong, and even since taking that the last week my blood pressure is now down to a good normal 128/82. I intend to continue losing weight at a moderate pace, backing down on food a little and being more active. That's that. Pax vobiscum.
