burdocks by the pond

Those are Burdocks. I had to look it up. Anyway, they're common around here in the country. I took this picture next to a small pond near our house. There's a farm area adjacent to our neighbourhood - lots of big old trees and a couple of ponds. I'll be sneaking a flyrod over there come Spring time to see if anything lies beneath. I'll let you know.

It's a bit of a lonely photo I think. As I look at it that's what I feel. Harsh and alone and cold. It is Winter. I feel like this sometimes, alone. I know, reasonably, I'm not, but I do feel that way. Something funny about that photo. I took another one just after it. The wind was blowing a bit and I tried to hold the plant so it would be in focus as I took the shot. I'm smart like that. Guess what? The one I took with no assistance came out great and the one I held was blurry. Nice. I'm sure there's some kind of parallel in there somewhere, but I have a headache and will not attempt to drag it out. Peace be with you.
