fishing > i thought this would happen
As I was saying, I thought this would happen. I went to lunch with my friend Josh and his Dad yesterday to talk fly fishing. They're going to a school in May (should be nice) and wanted to pick my brain. I knew the virus would infect my system after that - the the fever would be in my blood. It doesn't help that the weather is quite like early Spring around here now. Not right. Pictured there is one of the rods I own - the Orvis Once Ounce - that's right, the whole rod weighs only 1 oz. I highly recommend it for small stream Trout fishing, especially in the Eastern U.S. I've also caught a few Smallmouth Bass on that 6' 6" 2 weight rod - that's what you call adventurous.

This is a gorgeous 16" Brown Trout from a stream in Pennsylvania called the Letort Sping Run - and my One Oz. beside it - the trusty rod. I have a crazy vivid memory of catching that fish that day. That was several years ago. I hope to go there again - maybe this year, who knows. It was at a place called Bonny Brook - classic section of the Letort. As a neophyte to those hallowed waters, by all rights, I shouldn't have caught that fish, but I must have done something right that day. And yes, she's still there - at least as concerns me. I would have let her go anyway but those are catch & release only waters. I'm thinking to catch that fish again, now maybe 24" long, would be a bit more difficult. I was a part of that fish's evolution.

So, I need to fish. I would be nice to use my license again before it runs out at the end of February. We'll see about that. Now, though, it's time to take a nap I think. Maybe that's why I'm not fishing enough - I'd sometimes rather take a nap than get my crap together. Oh well, sweet dreams to me.
