things i'm thinking
Good thoughts this morning on process from my wife.

I thought to myself, "perhaps I should go post something of a rambling thought train like Kyle did last night," and so here I am rambling.

I picked up Disputed Questions by Thomas Merton again last night, looking through some of my highlights from last time around. I decided I will read through at least one section again, about the nature of Love. I'll be quoting it here extensively I think and commenting. Seriously good stuff (what else). I'd be quoting it now if I would have remembered to bring the book with me today. Oh well.

Today we begin 2 days a week of meeting for lunch, whoever can, and praying one of the little hours of the Office together. We'll meet in a park near where some of us work every Wednesday and Friday at Noon, eat lunch, pray and talk. I've always wanted some way that we can pray the Office together as a community. I've also known it's not very practical the way we live. This is a way we can sort of do that, weave it into our lives together. Thanks to Kyle for getting this together.

Encouraging interest in the house in the last few days - thinking it might actually sell before Monday. Once again, we shall see. My hopes aren't really "up" - just there. We either will or won't sell it. One way or another, we're having a big party to celebrate the end of the process.

Sacred Scripture - The Holy Bible - The Word of God. Here are some good thoughts for us by the Roman Catholic Church on the matter. I'm the first one to argue against something like sola scriptura or a fundamentalistic literalism in reference to Scripture, but you see I still capitalize the word. In our zeal to shed light on the unhealthiness of certain views, we should take care not to go too far in the other direction.
