mystical communion > go figure
Found me another quiz to take that helps pinpoint where you are theologically or ecclesiologically, and once again, it's pretty dang accurate. Here's me, if you didn't already know...

You scored as Sacrament model. Your model of the church is Sacrament. The church is the effective sign of the revelation that is the person of Jesus Christ. Christians are transformed by Christ and then become a beacon of Christ wherever they go. This model has a remarkable capacity for integrating other models of the church.

What is your model of the church? [Dulles]
created with QuizFarm.com

As I said, this is a pretty accurate expression of my "church model" - as much as you can get from a little quiz I guess. I like the tie on Mystical Communion and Sacramental - good stuff. As a matter of fact, in our community meeting the other night we were talking about the importance of the idea of mystical union being the center of who and what we are as Christians. I wanted to emphasize it again as the conversation went there - that our life as Christians is not "primarily" about outward actions, but rather, about inward union, which will, of course, produce changed actions. If however, we see our lives as a matter of doing the right things in order to be blessed or so that we will "get to heaven," we have a bit of trouble. Where are these actions coming from? They can, indeed, come from our raw, untransformed selves for a while, but from similarly untransformed motives. And they will not last. So, our point? Mystical Communion is the most rubber-meets-the-road, practical thing we could ever be focused on. It's the real eternal deal, not a temporary fix. OK, done now. Interesting quiz. Pax vobiscum.
